SOUTH DAKOTA SAGE-GROUSE MANAGEMENT PLAN UP FOR REVIEW

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) is revising the sage-grouse management plan. In the past, GFP has received input from landowners, producers, and members of the public, and they are again soliciting comments on this revision.

In an effort to increase public involvement, GFP will host a virtual public meeting using the online platform Zoom at 7 p.m. MT on August 20. A link and agenda for the meeting will be available at gfp.sd.gov/management-plans. A call-in option is also available. Call 1.669.900.9128 and use meeting ID 961 5693 6279 and passcode 740674.

GFP encourages the public to view the previous plan and provide feedback for the revision which will guide sage-grouse management for the next 10 years. After the revised plan is drafted, GFP will again solicit feedback.

The sage-grouse management plan that is due for revision can be viewed at gfp.sd.gov/UserDocs/nav/SageGrouseManagementPlan.pdf.

Results of the recently completed sage-grouse research in Harding County can be found at openprairie.sdstate.edu/etd/3385.

Please email your feedback to sagegrouseplan@state.sd.us or send comments to: GFP, 895 3rd Street SW, Huron, SD, 57384 by September 15.
